Offering a slightly more formal expression than other designs in the collection, About A Chair AAC 18 features slim, elegant legs and armrests that frame the seat shell. The chair’s upright, slightly rounded seat offers excellent comfort, while the open front conveys a welcoming expression. The legs are available in chrome and powder coated finishes, with the post-consumer recycled plastic shell offered in a wide palette of contemporary colours and multiple front upholstery options. Its refined silhouette and multitude of design combinations make it ideal for using in conferences, dining rooms, or home office environments.

About A Chair / Designer

Hee Welling is a Danish furniture designer who founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 2003. The son of a cabinetmaker, Welling’s fascination with production techniques, materials, and machinery was fired as a child. He went on to study at The University of Art and Design in Helsinki, and received his master’s degree in furniture design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Centred around the idea of creating technically accomplished products that can reach a wide audience, his designs are characterised by a great sense of proportion and quietly elegant aesthetics.

Welling has received a number of design awards, including the Bo Bedre Award (Denmark), Good Design Award (USA), and has been nominated as Danish designer of the year in 2013 and 2014. For HAY, Welling has designed the About A series and the Hee Collection.
