HOOK / Story
Combining a simple sense of utility with serenity of form, a strip of ash is steamed, stretched out and then reshaped to create this double hook design. It features recessed fixing brackets on the wall-facing side of the strip for optimal strength to hold multiple coats and bags.
Line Depping (b. 1978) is a Danish furniture designer who graduated from School of Design at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2007. Function and usefulness are key to Line’s work, with many of her new ideas arising from her observational approach to the way we live. Her designs have a simple expression, with a natural and well-proportioned form that makes them appealing to use. With a special focus on materials, Line works mainly with wood, although often adds other materials to juxtapose the textural qualities. For HAY, she has created the Hook series.
